Soma drug addiction & withdrawl

No major signs of addiction have been observed with Soma usage. But it is highly recommended that special caution with addiction-prone individual needs to be taken. Even with a general user – Soma can become addictive if taken for a prolonged duration. Ensure that you do not get psychologically dependent on Soma.

During clinical studies in dogs, no Soma withdrawal symptoms occurred after abrupt cessation of Soma (Carisoprodol) from dosages as high as 1 g/kg/day. During studies with man, abrupt cessation of 100 mg/kg/day (about five times the recommended daily adult dosage) was administered in some subjects. Very mild withdrawal symptoms such as abdominal cramps, insomnia, chilliness, headache, and nausea were noticed.

The main issue is the psychological dependence. Physical dependence of the drug will occur irrespective of what you try. But if you strongly believe that you can quit Soma without much problem – then it becomes more so easier.

Once your doctor ceases your medication – the next problem is the withdrawal. Now how will you withdraw from Soma medication? It will be not very difficult. As per the clinical studies – Soma do not have high chances of addiction. Therefore withdrawal becomes all that easier. One needs to stay mentally tough and make their mind that you have to quit this drug sooner or later.

Mild withdrawal symptoms were recorded during Soma withdrawal. They were: –

  • Headache
  • Nausea
  • Stomach cramps
  • Stomach disorder
  • Flushing at times
  • Feeling dizzy if standing or sitting for a long time
  • Otherwise Soma is known to be quite safe for usage. Physicians highly recommend Soma because of its high potency.
